The Grand and Historic Brooklyn Paramount Theatre Reopens Soon!

Originally opened in 1928, the Brooklyn Paramount was the world's first theatre to show talking movies. Many illustrious performers appeared at the Paramount, to name a few, Ella Fitzgerald, Beddy Holly and The Crickets, Chuck Berry, Duke Ellington, Fats Domino, Frank Sinatra, Johnny Mathis, Little Richard, Miles Davis and Ray Charles.

This amazing venue will officially reopen on March 27th after a multi million dollar renovation, that will seat 2,700 guests. After 60 years, live music is coming to the Paramount with 2024 performances booked and include Nora Jones, Mariah The Scientist, Busta Rhymes and more.

Preserved in the renovation of the space are the iconic Rococo ceilings with Baroque detail and the original handcrafted plaster statues. Updates in the renovation include a sloped floor for optimal viewing, seven bars with vintage liquors. The second level balcony has an exclusive member box and “Ella's VIP lounge”. There is a grand new stage with a cutting edge backstage facility that includes a game room, a gym and art installations from local artists. An original Mighty Wurlitzer organ, one of only two in operation was also part of the restoration project, will continue to be maintained by the New York Theatre Organ Society. The other organ is located in Radio City Music Hall.

The planning, design and construction took 5 years and 500 workers. The venue, when open will create more than 250 permanent jobs. David Codiga, President of Blueprint Studio, Live Nation's global design and development team said “We are honored that Long Island University chose Venue Nation to reimagine the next era of the Brooklyn Paramount. Elevating the artist and fan experience is our top priority as we develop live music venues and Brooklyn Paramount is a stunning space that will host many memorable shows”.

According to Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso “I applaud Live Nation for renovating this historic venue where New Yorkers can enjoy the hottest performers right here in Brooklyn. This reopening demonstrates that New York City does not need to reinvent the wheel to bring entertainment and good paying jobs to our city. I am glad to see the Brooklyn Paramount back and I look forward to seeing a performance there in the future!”
