May 10, 2015   The William Vale Hotel to be built at 55 Wythe Avenue, will join a new wave of hip Brooklyn Hotels already planned and being built, such as The Wythe, The McCarren and The Williamsburg.

June 13, 2015 The Downtown Brooklyn New York Marriott Hotel announces plans for a major remodel in an effort to maintain a top spot amongst large hotels in Brooklyn.

The latest addition to Brooklyn’s Hotel boom is the Hoxton Hotel, to be located at 97 Wythe Avenue in Williamsburg. The Hoxton site was home to the 150 year old Rosenwach Tank Company, manufacturer of wooden water tanks. Hoxton hotel buyer Sydell Freehand of The Sydell Group purchased the property in December 2013 for $10M. The Sydell Group owns, develops and manages hotels and has offices in New York, London and Los Angeles.

The site was sold in 2013 to London based developer Ennismore. Air rights at 93 N9th Street were also purchased for $2.65M.

The Hoxton is planned to be 9 stories tall and have 175 rooms. Sydell will be the owner’s representative for the development.
