Brooklyn Navy Yard Update

April 27th 2017
Tags: Real Estate News, All about Brooklyn New York

The historic Brooklyn Navy Yard continues to be transformed from a blighted part of the Fort Greene/Brooklyn Navy yard neighborhood to an expanding, exciting business hub.

Once home to our first American Navy ships in 1801 to a now daily workforce of 7,000 people. Projections are that within two years 17,000 daily workers will travel to The Navy Yard.

Two ambitious projects planned for The Navy Yard are a 17 story, 1M square foot food manufacturing plant and Rudin Management/Boston Properties, $410M, 675,000 square foot Dock 72 project. Dock 72 is planned to be a ground up, class A office building. We Work will be a major tenant in the building.

According to Brooklyn Navy Yard development corporation CEO David Ehrenberg “Navy Yard office buildings are attracting businesses because people want to meet others in an unscripted way and that happens in the navy yard where there will be different businesses mixed together in addition to the large co working presence”.
