Greenwood Heights is a great Brooklyn, NY neighborhood with open green spaces, eclectic housing with several different lifestyle options and a booming bar and restaurant scene.

Greenwood Heights takes it’s name from the beautiful and historic Greenwood Cemetery where nature lovers can bird watch and enjoy walking trails.

Greenwood Heights borders are approximately Prospect Expressway to the North, Gowanus Canal to the West, 8th Avenue to the East and 39th Street to the South.  The surrounding neighborhoods to Greenwood Heights are Windsor Terrace, sunset Park and Park Slope South.

Train service into Manhattan from Greenwood Heights is on the D, N and R lines at 36th Street and 4th Avenue.

There are some good schools located in and around Greenwood Heights. They are:

P.S. 295 The Studio School of Arts & Culture located at 330 18th Street, serving grades PK-5.

P.S. 172 Beacon School of Excellence located at 825 4th Avenue, serving grades PK, OK, 1-5 and SE.

P.S. 24 located at 427 38th Street, serving grades PK- 5th. There is a dual language program in Spanish and English.

P.S. 10 Magnet High School of Math, Science & Design Tech located at 511 7th Avenue.

Real Estate values in Greenwood Heights are at an all time high with tremendous demand for properties of all types.

The latest residential development project planned for the neighborhood is located at 875 4th Avenue at 42nd and 43rd Streets. The building will be 8 stories high and have 150 apartments. Greenwood Park located at 555 7th Avenue, is a pub in an old gas station. There are 60 beer taps on the premises.

Bar 718 located at 718 5th Avenue, with bar games and happy hour drinks.

Freddy’s Bar located at 627 5th Avenue, a classic local saloon and performance space.

Quarter located at 676 5th Avenue, a neighborhood gem and great cocktail bar.
