As a kid growing up in Brooklyn, I first saw this truly unique and fairytale like home as a teenager. I didn't know then, that I would become a real estate broker, but I loved showing this curious and unusual home located at 8220 Narrows Avenue in Bay Ridge to my friends, from the outside, of course. We called it different names and one name is the gingerbread house.

Now, many years later this wondrous homemade of natural rocks and boulders, with an Arts and Crafts style architecture is on the market to be sold and has an asking price of $10.5M. This one of a kind homehas 5,746 square feet of living space and sits on a 20,000 square foot lot. The house was built in 1917 and designed by architect James Sarsfield Kennedy. Photos of the interior of this wonderful home show amazing beautifully cared for and restored period details throughout the house.

There are some absolutely stunningly gorgeous, large custom built homes in Dyker Heights and Bay Ridge, Brooklyn NY. Many of these mini mansions are made with exotic granite and marble and there is even one other very unique, beautiful yet modern home in Dyker Heights made with natural stones. Yes, Brooklyn has many, many luxury homes of all sizes and shapes, but the gingerbread house is truly one of a kind. If you are curious, go take a look from the outside. I am sure that you would get a kick out of seeing this wondrous feat of architecture, and maybe it will make you feel like a kid in a fairytale.
