From one end of Bushwick to the other, for the most part, you cannot find a block where there is not at least one house undergoing a gut renovation or where there is an exciting new ground up development project underway. Bushwick, Brooklyn NY is undergoing a transformation and is growing in popularity rapidly. Visit the galleries, see the street art and graffiti, go into the shops and eat in the new and in the neighborhood’s favorite restaurants and bars, you will see, feel and taste the creativity and energy of this evolving neighborhood.

Bushwick is in Northern Brooklyn and is bordered by Ridgewood, Queens to the northeast, Williamsburg to the northwest, East New York and the cemeteries of Highland Park to the southeast, Brownsville to the south and Bedford Stuyvesant to the southwest.

Today’s real estate market in Bushwick shows no sign of slowing down. Demand for residential housing and investment properties is high. Some examples of asking prices for properties in Bushwick are:

For a 6 family house currently on the market the asking price is  $2.3M for a  5,250 square foot, 11 bedroom building.

Co op apartments are very reasonably priced asking $315,000 for a 590 square foot, 3 room, 1 bedroom and 1 bath apartment and $439,000 for an 800 square foot 3 bedroom and 1 bath apartment.

There is an abundant selection of condominium apartments on the market in Bushwick. The prices range from:

$420,000 for a 534 square foot, 2 room, studio apartment with 1 bath, to $499,000 for a 504 square foot, 1 bedroom, 1 bath unit to $579,000 for a 576 square foot, 1 bedroom, 1 bath unit to $625,000 for a 618 square foot, 1 bedroom, 1 bath unit to$689,000 for a 796 square foot 1 bedroom, 1 bath unit. Bushwick has several good schools. They are:

P.S. 123 Suydam located at 100 Irving Avenue. Grades served are 1 to 5, PK, SE and OK.

Achievement First Bushwick Charter School located at 1300 Greene Avenue. Grades served are K to 12th grade.

All City Leadership Secondary School located at 321 Palmetto Street. Grades served 6-12.

P.S. 120 Carlos Tapia located at 18 Beaver Street. Grades served are PK-5.

P.S. 376 located at 194 Harman Street. Grades served are K-5.

The subway stations into Manhattan from Bushwick are:

Mominette located at 221 Knickerbocker Avenue, a French bistro.

Lucy’s Vietnamese Kitchen located at 262 Irving Avenue where everything on the menu is great.
