Prospect Lefferts Gardens Group Moves To Save Their Street

The Fenimore Street Block Association (FSBA) is seeking to protect 21 lots on the south side of Fenimore Street, between Bedford and Rogers Avenues in Prospect Lefferts Gardens, Brooklyn. The group is against developers changing the character of their street.

Lefferts Manor located directly across the street has received historic district designation and zoning protections from development. The FSBA is seeking the same zoning protection as Lefferts Manor.

The FSBA presented Brooklyn’s Community Board 9 with their case. The Fenimore Street Block Association is seeking a zoning change from R-6 to R-2 which allows for single family detached residential homes only as opposed to large condominium buildings.

Preservation consultant Paul Graziano says that The FSBA will meet with Community Board 9 to go over the logistics for submitting their application. What will then follow is The Department of City Planning approving of the application or not. If approved, the proposal moves through The Uniform Land Use Review Procedure whereby the Mayor and local representatives approve or reject zoning changes.

To be continued.

If you are planning to sell your Brooklyn property, whether a residential property, a commercial building, mixed use, multi family, vacant land, coop or condominium or a development opportunity, call us. You will be very happy that you did.

Thank you.
