Brooklyn’s Park Slope South Neighborhood

Park Slope South, a beautiful Brooklyn New York neighborhood, is bordered by other beautiful neighborhoods of Windsor Terrace, Park Slope and Greenwood Heights. The neighborhood boundaries of Park Slope South are 4th Avenue to Prospect Park West, The Prospect Expressway or 18th Street to 9th Street.

This very lovely neighborhood has high real estate values. For example, in today’s residential market, Condominium prices range from a one bedroom one bath, 556 square foot unit priced at $685,000 to a two bedroom two bath, approximately 1,600 square foot unit with 200 square feet of balcony space priced at $1.8M.

Cooperative apartment prices range from a one bedroom one bath priced at $660,000 to a two bedroom one bath, 1,650 square foot apartment priced at $1.650M.

The price range for a three story, 10 room, four bedroom two bath single family home is $1.8M and the price range goes up as high as $4.1M for a new construction, 3,300 square foot, four bedroom four bath home.

The price range for a multi- family home is from on the low end of the range for a two family house priced at $1.5M to just under $2M for a six room, three bedroom two bath to $3.6M for a 5,616 square foot four family house.

There are three subway stations that service Park Slope South. They are the 15th Street/Prospect Park Station which has the F and G trains, the Prospect Avenue & 4th Avenue Station which has the R train and the Seventh Avenue & 9th Street station which has the F and G trains.

P.S. 10 Magnet School of Math, Science & Design Technology located at 511 7th Avenue, grades k to 5th grade.

P.S. 118 Maurice Sendak Community School located at 211 8th Street, grades pre k, k to 4th grade.

P.S. 154 The Windsor Terrace School located at 1625 11th Avenue, grades k to 5th grade.

The array of Bars and Pubs in or near Park slope South is incredible. Stroll down 5th Avenue, 6th Avenue, 7th Avenue and 9th Street and you are bound to find your Cheers pub to call home away from home.

The neighborhood patiently awaits the Winter 2018  grand opening of the new Nitehawk Cinema located at 118 Prospect Park West, replacing The Pavillion Movie Theatre. This reimagined 34,000 square foot space will have 7 screens, 2 elevators, 2 bars and a double kitchen. There were several walls removed as part of the extensive renovation which allows for a lot of natural light and views out onto the park. Some architectural details will remain intact such as tin ceilings, moldings and marble steps.
