Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn New York continues to attract New Yorkers with an easy commute into Manhattan, great shops, restaurants,  a great mix of new condominium developments and an existing housing stock of gorgeous brownstone, limestone and brick homes on tree lined streets.

There are several new developments being planned or are already being built in Bedford Stuyvesant.

Across from Herbert Von King Park, a six story residential building is planned at 253 Tompkins Avenue, corner of Van Buren Street. The developer is Exclusive Homes and the architect is Issac and Stern. There will be11 apartments with 886 square feet each. The layout of the building will include duplex apartments and a penthouse apartment with a private terrace.

At 1875 Atlantic Avenue, developer Velocity Framers USA Inc. is planning a 9 story 118 unit residential rental building. The 79,446 square foot building will have units 673 square feet in size each. There will be a parking garage for 59 cars and storage for 59 bicycles, a laundry room and 3 separate recreation areas.

Another project planned in Bedford Stuyvesant will be located at 511 Lafayette Avenue. This 11,484 square foot building will be 4 stories and have 10 residential rental units averaging 789 square feet each. Tomer Erlich is the developer and ARC architecture + Design studio is the architect on the project.

Waterfront property Management has planned a 5 story, 12 unit mixed use building at 597 Marcy Avenue. The building will be 17,888 in size, with 3,150 square feet of ground floor retail space and 3,400 square feet for doctor’s offices on the 2nd floor. The residential apartments will be 889 square feet each. Genaro R. Urueta is the architect on this project.

A rare project is planned at 644 Gates Avenue, where Bawabeh Realty Holdings with the Co op School will take a single story retail building and redevelop it into a 3 story, 30,000 square foot school. The school will be equipped with a library, an auditorium, a music room, classrooms for 250 Middle School students and a rooftop recreational area.

The school should be open by 2018.
